Research Portfolio
Primary Research:
Below are examples of primary research. I used primary research as I was hoping to gain an understanding of whether my proposed products would be suitable for my proposed target audience. I could not obtain this information from secondary sources as it was relevant to a new product. The first item is from my TV advertisement unit and I wanted to know if my advert had a positive impact on the target audience and whether it would persuade them to change their shopping habits. I created a questionnaire, asking open and closed questions in order to get quantitative and qualitative data; graphs and charts generated make it easier to discern information at a glance and the qualitative responses from my questionnaire gave me detailed feedback as to what I could improve and why my advert was successful.

3MW secondary research:
I used secondary sources for research for a range of projects as obtaining primary data would have taken too long in some instances (MESH corporate video project), was accurate enough in others (Unilever and BARB data from official websites) and impossible to obtain for others (3MW). I found secondary data to be effective and relevant, providing I used recognised and reliable source.
It was also beneficial to blend some primary and some secondary research in order to get the best information for my projects.
